Staff benefits
TSL staff and students are in the unique situation of being able to benefit both from our close associations with the University of East Anglia and our neighbouring institutes on the Norwich Research Park.
Facilities available on the Norwich Research Park (NRP)
Catering
Hot and cold food is provided across the site. Confectionery, hot and cold drinks and vending machines are also available. The nearby Centrum building has a large restaurant which is also open to the public.
On-site car parking
Parking on site is free for all TSL staff and students. We also have access to electric car charging points provided by a commercial partner.
John Innes Recreation Centre
TSL staff and students enjoy the benefits of being physically located on the Norwich Research Park, with access to facilities such as the John Innes Centre recreation centre which include an outdoor (heated!) swimming pool, table tennis, badminton and squash courts, a full sized snooker table and use of the bar and hall in the Recreation Centre.
Bicycle Hire
All TSL staff & students can hire a bicycle for a short period depending on availability. Bikes are provided and maintained by the research institutes.
Mr Cycle (bike repairs)
Mr Cycle is usually on site from 12:00 - 14:00 every Thursday for bicycle checks & repairs. An initial bicycle safety check is free of charge. Prices for services & repairs can be found on the Mr Cycle website.
Facilities available at the University of East Anglia (UEA)
We're located a stone's throw away from the UEA campus. As well as being able to take advantage of the green surroundings of UEA and it's lake for a relaxing walk, TSL staff & students also benefit from numerous additional 'perks'.
UEA Campus Card
All staff that are paid by TSL are entitled to a UEA campus card. A UEA campus card will get you access to the following -
• Access to borrow books from the UEA library.
• Access to the PrintPlus+ service for printing & photocopying within the UEA library.
• Free entry into the UEA Sportspark (normally 60p).
• £3/month discount on all gym memberships at the UEA Sportspark.
UEA Perkz
All staff that are paid by TSL and PhD students are entitled to the UEA Perkz discount which offers discounts on products from a range of brands & shops.
UEA Sportspark
The UEA is home to the Sportspark, which offers a range of indoor and outdoor sports facilities to UEA staff, students and members of the local community. Alongside a climbing wall, 50m swimming pool, athletics track, gymnasiums, and numerous other facilities, there is a fully equipped gym with cardiovascular and fixed weight machines along with a free weights area, lifting platforms and more.
UEA Cycle To Work
All staff that are paid by TSL are entitled to the UEA's Cycle To Work scheme which allows you to borrow up to £1,000 to buy a bike & cycling safety equipment.
The money will come directly out of your salary before tax & National Insurance are calculated, thereby saving you money.
First Bus Tickets
All TSL staff & students are entitled to the First bus UEA ticket discount which offers discount on a range of tickets, giving you unlimited travel on any of their buses across Norwich & Norfolk.
