I am fascinated by the molecular mechanisms of plant-pathogen interactions. Previously, as a research assistant in Taiwan, I used cell biological approaches to study the spatiotemporal dynamics of plant hypersensitive cell death and immune receptor activation. Our team developed a set of subcellular markers and a live-cell imaging pipeline suitable for prolonged imaging of these responses. This eventually enabled our group to refine the subcellular programs plants use to execute hypersensitive cell death.

Plants have evolved a highly diverse and cooperative network of immune receptors to defend against microorganisms. Understanding these molecular mechanisms provides foundational knowledge to enhance crop disease resistance. My research here at TSL continues to explore this complex system, with the aim to contribute to our understanding and translate this knowledge into applicable agricultural solutions.
