Shauna Martin

My work is focussed on the PotatoPlus project, developing new potato varieties resistant to late blight and other diseases under the recently approved UK Precision Breeding Act, with the goal to bring them to market, facilitated by a TSL venture, BioPotatoes.

My day-to-day jobs vary from molecular biology work, analysing genotype and phenotype of the transformants, assessing immune receptor gene expression through infiltration assays, pathogen infection assays, glasshouse and field assessment of new lines and selecting the best lines for further use/testing.
