Luyao Huang
Bio
I have an academic background in plant protection, with a long-standing interest in plant–pathogen interactions.
During my PhD, I focused on the characterization of Ustilago maydis effectors.
Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher in Nick Talbot’s lab, where my work focuses on Magnaporthe oryzae effectors.
My research involves the functional characterization of Zinc-finger fold (ZiF) secreted effectors and the investigation of general mechanisms underlying effector delivery into host cells. I aim to understand how M. oryzae effectors contribute to fungal pathogenicity and manipulate host cellular processes.
