Postdoctoral Scientist
Lea Pedinotti
Bio
I am a postdoctoral researcher in Cyril Zipfel’s group, where I study root immunity in plants.
I’m interested in how plant receptor kinases recognize and distinguish between beneficial and harmful microbes in the rhizosphere. By studying the molecular basis of receptor kinase signalling, I aim to better understand how plants balance immune and symbiotic responses.
I completed my PhD at the University of Toulouse, France. During my PhD, I investigated how plant-secreted peptide, and their fungal mimics, regulate arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis. This work highlighted the role of small signalling molecules (especially CLE and CEP peptides) in forming and maintaining beneficial root endosymbiosis.
