Bio
I am interested in the lifestyles of filamentous fungi. I have experience working with various types of filamentous fungi including model fungi, plant pathogenic fungi, industrial fermentation fungi and mushrooms. My research has focused on the cell biology of these fungi, using molecular techniques.
Currently, my research is particularly focused on understanding how plant pathogenic filamentous fungi cause disease in their host plants. As a visiting scientist in the Nick Talbot Group, I am investigating the infection mechanisms of the rice blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae.
