Deena Maharjan

I am interested in areas of plant-microbe interaction, pathogen-host interactions, plant resistance against pathogens and crop improvements with the use of biologicals. My research at 2Blades Group in The Sainsbury Laboratory is focused on performing high throughput protoplast assays, molecular biology, plant care and biological assays.

My previous research was focused on translating scientific research to real world applications and helping farmers and society. Throughout my academic journey at Rothamsted Research Institute where I studied on characterisation of zinc-solubilising root-associated Pseudomonas sps,, and research at agri-biotech company FA Bio where I worked on the discovery of soil-native beneficial fungi with plant disease control and plant growth promotion properties, I have been captivated by the cutting-edge of agricultural science and innovation, to generate discoveries and knowledge for global food security and environmental sustainability. At 2Blades, I look forward to contributing to discoveries that create a global impact through the lens of advanced genomic technologies.
