Bio

After writing my undergraduate dissertation on common wheat and potato diseases in the UK and looking at how bio-regenerative farming systems can be used to try and control them, I have gained a deep appreciation for plant diseases and plant defence. My time working as a vegetable field trials assistant has helped me to further my interest in plant-microbe interactions even further after witnessing the impacts disease and pests can have on crops in the field. I am excited to build on this further throughout my master’s course and understand more of the scientific background to those interactions that I have observed in the field. I look forward to learning more about plant disease and plant defence mechanisms and how their management can help with global food security.
