Bio

After receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in Plant Protection, I chose to continue studying biological science as a master student, working on the functional analysis of pathogenicity-related genes of rice blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae. Since 2013, I have worked in Professor Gero Steinberg’s group at the University of Exeter as a research technician, focused on molecular and cell biology research of wheat pathogen Zymoseptoria tritici and corn smut fungus Ustilago maydis. I joined Professor Nick Talbot’s research group in 2018 as a research technician to provide a wide range of research activities, including the cultivation and manipulation of filamentous fungal pathogens, molecular cloning and gene identification and characterisation.
