Miss Ruby O’Grady
I have recently completed my degree in Biological Sciences. Throughout my three years I realised that my main interest in biology lies with plants, specifically the evolution of plant immunity. As part of my degree I undertook a 2 month research project identifying residues in Rcr3 protease required to interact with the resistance gene Cf-2 to confer resistance against tomato leaf mould.
I am now working in the Krasileva group to experimentally assess genes predicted from bioinformatics analysis to be ancient and to play an important role in immunity across monocots and dicots.
