Neeti Nirwal

MSc Student

My field of interest is plant genetic engineering for crop improvement without causing damage to environment. In this direction, identification, characterization, targeted modification, and integration of beneficial traits in plants with the use of genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics approaches always enhance my curiosity to gain in-depth understanding and skills to implement them practically.

As I am working on MSc research project “Investigating the role of MAP kinases as key regulators of plant innate immunity” under the supervision of Dr. Frank Menke. This is a new research experience for me to understand functionality of plant immune response against pathogen at cellular level with the application of wide range of strategies including proteomics. I am much enthusiastic and take it as a challenge to accomplish all objectives under this project successfully.

Certainly, my overall research experience in the field of plant science will encourage me to pursue my further higher research education.
