I first started in Jones’ laboratory as a Marie-Curie Post-doctoral fellow. My research project consisted in studying consequences of Cf-9 protein structure alteration on its function and identifying interacting partners by high throughput screening method.

I am now a Post-doctoral Research Assistant with direct responsibility for the management of the Jones laboratory. I line manage three TSL support staff. My role is to make the laboratory working efficiently. My duties range from performing Health and Safety inductions of any new laboratory member, assuring that the laboratory meets the Quality Assurance standards by correct labelling and record keeping procedures to interfacing with different services from JIC or The Sainsbury laboratory.

I am also involved in different research projects in the laboratory mainly related to synthetic biology. I am developing and testing new tools using Golden Gate or UserTM cloning technology. One of the exciting projects I am currently working on genome editing which has to do with modifying plant genomes using CrispR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats)/ Cas9 (Crips-associated) system.
