I completed my PhD in biology at Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario) under the supervision of Dr. Wayne Snedden. My research there focused on the physiological roles of a stress-induced subfamily of Calmodulin-like proteins. Following my PhD, I completed a postdoc at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under the supervision of Drs. Ray Zielinski and Steven Huber. There, my studies focused generally on protein kinase function, with emphasis on plant receptor kinases and Ca2+-dependent protein kinases.

I joined the Zipfel group in 2017. My studies at TSL will focus on regulation of plant immunity by receptor kinases.
