Bio

I am interested in the molecular interactions between pathogens and plants that result in disease. I am working with the 2Blades Group to identify and characterise effectors of Phakopsora pachyrhizi, the causal agent of Asian Soybean Rust disease on legume crops. I am trying to understand virulence strategies of rust pathogens to see how they can overcome host plant innate immunity in the field.
