Dr Julie Ku
I have started my scientific training in the fascinating field of plant development; in particular, I focused on how plants potentially regulate growth under both normal conditions and in the presence of genotoxic stress in Arabidopsis thaliana.
However, I am interested in applying my knowledge in plant sciences and laboratory skills, to solve problems our modern society faces. Currently I am in the 2 Blades research group, aiming to understand how Asian soybean rust (ASR), an obligate biotrophic fungus, infects soybean and a broad range of legume species; and also, how the legumes respond, or/and defend against ASR.
