Proteomics

I specialize in proteomics and mass spectrometry (MS), my broader background is biochemistry.

The molecular structure of biomolecules can be inferred from the measurement of their accurate masses and collision spectra. In proteomics the most advanced MS instruments are capable high throughput analysis when coupled with a powerful separation technique. I combine affinity enrichment, electrophoresis, and liquid chromatography. My MS knowledge supports hands-on experience with platforms equipped with MALDI and nanoESI ion source: TOF-TOF, qTOF, QQQ, ion trap, and LTQ-Orbitrap.

I have been involved in protein isolation and characterization, including PTM (glycosylation, phosphorylation, and acetylation).  I also designed isolation and detection of fungal secondary metabolite from culture filtrates, and separation science with purification of biomolecules is my second area of interest.

Currently I contribute to several proteomics projects in plant pathology lab (TSL) with protein and peptide identification including experimental design, carrying out the measurements, and the data interpretation.
