My work is focused on deciphering the activation and effector recognition of the paired Arabidopsis TIR-NB-LRR resistance proteins RPS4 and RRS1. I am interested in understanding how the interactions between these paired resistance proteins change upon recognition of the bacterial effectors AvrRps4 and PopP2 and how these reconfigurations result in the conversion of RPS4 and RRS1 to a defence-activating complex.
