Dr Egidio Stigliano

Postdoctoral Scientist
Silke Robatzek Group

The plasma membrane provides the primary interface in plant-microbe recognition. Specific receptors located at the plasma membrane are responsible for the detection of pathogen-associated molecular patterns and the initiation of immune signalling. I joined  Silke Robatzek’s group in October 2015 and my research interests are the early steps of receptor-mediated endocytosis using genetics, biochemistry, proteomics and microscopy techniques.

Previously, I worked on endomembrane trafficking elucidating the role of the soluble vacuolar marker GFPChi.
