I started my career in the area of primary metabolism and gene regulation, two subjects I still follow with great interest. However, during my research performed in the group of Jonathan Jones, I developed a passion to understand the molecular mechanisms of plant-pathogen interactions and the underlying genetics.

Presently, I am part of the 2Blades group and I am involved in the project to develop durable race independent resistance against Asian Soybean Rust, a devastating disease caused by the biotrophic fungal pathogen Phakopsora pachyrhizi.
