I am interested in understanding the interaction between plants and filamentous pathogens at cell biology, biochemistry and genetics levels.

My current project focuses on how solanaceous NB-LRR immune receptors recognize cognate effectors and mediate downstream signalling which lead to disease resistance. The current approach is to use immunoprecipitation and mass spectrometry to identify proteins which associate with immune receptors, and then study to what extent that these associated proteins contribute to plant immunity.

I truly believe that our understanding about plant immune receptors could provide fundamental knowledge to maintain durable disease resistance in importance crops in agriculture.
