I am interested in Genome Engineering to improve the potato crop. During my Ph.D, I have worked on PVY resistance by knock-out of the EIF4E-Gene in Solanum tuberosum through CRISPR/Cas9. I have also exploited CRISPR/Cas13a to generate PVY-Resistant lines. Currently I am attempting gene knock-ins using site-specific nucleases and also I am using prime editing.
