In my undergraduate studies I was mostly interested in plant sciences and wrote my thesis on the development of Silphium perfoliatum as a new bioenergy crop. In my graduate studies my focus shifted more towards plant pathogen interactions. I think with the increase in humans on this world and decreasing cultivatable land it is going to be more important to decrease food loss to pests and diseases. Therefore, I applied for this internship at the 2Blades group to expand my knowledge in this area.
