Bio

During studying a Natural Sciences degree, which included a diverse range of different scientific disciplines, I became interested in the application of machine learning techniques to problems in Biology, which led me to bioinformatics.

I am interested in the use of bioinformatics for studying the rice blast fungus (Magnaporthe oryzae) population structure, and how this could improve understanding of the adaption of this destructive plant pathogen.
