Pre-doctoral internship on the biology of plant tissue invasion by the rice blast fungus

A pre-doctoral internship position is available within the research group of Professor Nick Talbot at The Sainsbury Laboratory, Norwich. The project aims to investigate the mechanisms by which the blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae is able to invade and proliferate in plant tissue.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the team. The intern will receive professional training in a wide variety of techniques and skills including molecular cloning, live cell imaging, and molecular plant pathology. Candidates are required to have obtained a BSc or MSc degree in Biological Sciences or Biochemistry. A strong interest in plant-microbe interactions is required. This internship offers invaluable work experience in a world leading laboratory in advance of starting a PhD program.

We offer a salary within the UEA technical staff scale grade 3 £17,079 PA. The internship will be up to a 12 months appointment.
